About the Instructor, Julie Stack

It all started with the birth of my son Sean in 1996. Being born completely septic, he was quickly treated with ECMO therapy at Tampa General Hospital. Back then it was a heart-lung bypass machine for infants. With many months of illness and doctor visits, I was told I needed to know a few basic things to help Sean stay alive. One basic thing the doctor told me was, I needed to learn CPR and how to use an AED..
With that thought, I took a CPR/AED course. Then, after careful consideration, I enrolled in some medical courses, which then led me to the Fire Academy at Hillsborough Community College in Tampa, Florida. I wanted to be completely prepared for any emergency at home with my son.
Some years went by, and Sean was doing better. I decided to see if I could apply to Pasco County Fire Rescue and use some of the skills I had learned at HCC.
I was hired! Working as a Professional Firefighter for Pasco County Fire Rescue taught me real-life experience and gave me the confidence to be able to jump into any emergency situation and help when needed. That was my most rewarding job, other than being a mother of 2 and wife.
Then I gave birth to my 3rd child, CPR RESQ!. It started in 1999, just as a hobby to help mothers coming out of the hospital with sick infants who needed to know CPR. As people heard about CPR/AED classes being given, I got more and more calls. We now sit as a 5-star company on Google.
I am still teaching today, selling AEDs, and working on my patented product, Stack Strips! There is a feeling you get when you hear from a mother who just saved her child from a drowning or a choking emergency! I will teach forever just to be able to help someone be prepared.
Every minute that passes waiting for EMS to arrive is time that you could be making a difference in this person’s chances of survival.
Sean is now 28 years old, has a set of twins, and I still enjoy teaching classes. Following my dreams, knowing that somewhere, someone is making a difference in saving a life!
Be the one BEFORE 911!
